It’s NOT ‘just’ Asthma.

Welcome to my personal health blog, primarily based around living with asthma. I hope to not only tell my story but to educate and inform.

Facts:

8 million people (over 12% of the population) havewp_20160525_19_45_02_pro been diagnosed with asthma.

Around 1,200 people a year are recorded as dying from asthma in the UK.

Although low compared with most other lung diseases, this figure is still too high. Given the manageability of asthma, mortality should be closer to zero.

People die every day from asthma. There is NO cure, only medicines that have awful side affects. More and more children are being diagnosed with asthma because of the pollution in this country, and for those of you who smoke or smoke round your kids… please think twice about it. Living with a lung condition isn’t fun.

I hope through my page you can find out more about Asthma, what it’s like to live with asthma, not just reading a list on a website – real tips and tricks from an insider.

How living with asthma doesn’t have to define who we are, it’s just something we have and the best ways to manage your asthma and deal with your asthma.

I encourage people to ask me anything they want to know, I hope this space can be open and provide support to those who need it. As well as helping people understand more about asthma from a personal point of view.

I am not a medical professional and i do not advise anyone to stop taking or change their medication or treatment for their asthma. If you have any concerns please seek advice from a medical professional. If you are concerned about your asthma or your breathing I urge you to seek help asap from a medical professional.

Hopefully, my asthma story and experiences can help others and raise awareness!
